Privacy Policy
At Multiply Mission LLC ("Multiply," "we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our website (multiplymission.org), use an experience we build for a church, or work with us as a church partner.
By using our website or services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them. This policy works together with our Terms of Service.
Important: Multiply is a faith-based service built for churches and the people they serve. We take privacy seriously and follow applicable federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), other state comprehensive privacy laws, and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Who this policy covers. We work with three groups of people:
- Church leaders and staff who partner with us or talk with us about partnering
- Participants: members, visitors, and online viewers who use an experience their church offers through Multiply. Participants do not create accounts, download an app, or sign in.
- Website visitors and gift givers, including people who send a Sermon Gift to their pastor
Our role for Participants. When you use an experience your church offers through Multiply, we handle your information on behalf of your church. Your church decides how it uses what it sees. If you have questions about how your church uses your information, please ask your church. You are also always welcome to contact us.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Give Us
We collect information you choose to provide when you:
- Book a call or send your availability: Name, email address, phone number (if you give it), church name, your role, and the times that work for you
- Partner with us as a church: Administrator name and contact details, church information (such as name, size, location, and web address), and billing contact details. Payment information is processed by third-party payment processors, and we do not store full card numbers.
- Share church content: Sermon video and audio, images, logos, and other material your church gives us
- Use an experience as a Participant: Anything you choose to submit, such as reflection responses, Ministry Fit answers and results, testimonies (including text, photos, or video), and the next steps you commit to. If you choose to share your name, email address, or phone number so your church can follow up with you, we collect that too.
- Send a Sermon Gift: Your name and email address, your church's name, your pastor's name and email address, the sermon link, your personal note, and your chosen delivery date. We use your pastor's information only to deliver the gift and follow up about it.
- Nominate a church: When a partner church nominates another church, we receive that church's name and a leader's contact details.
- Contact us: Anything you include in emails, support requests, or feedback
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website or use an experience, we automatically collect:
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Usage information: Pages visited, time spent, features used, and whether a step in an experience was opened or completed
- IP address and general location: City and state level only
- Cookies and similar technologies: See Section 6
Engagement with an experience is measured at the activity level. It is connected to your identity only if you choose to share your name or contact information.
1.3 Information from Others
We may receive information from:
- Your church: When your church shares information with us to set up or deliver an experience
- Video platforms: When a church shares sermon content from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, or similar services
- Nominating churches: As described in Section 1.1
1.4 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at privacy@multiplymission.org.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and improve our services: Build and host sermon-based experiences, deliver analytics digests and impact reports, and hold strategy sessions
- Process payments and billing: Manage plans, invoices, and one-time purchases
- Communicate with you: Send service updates, strategy session and renewal reminders, reports, and support responses
- Understand and improve: Learn how churches and Participants use Multiply so we can make it better
- Reach church leaders: Send newsletters and updates to church leaders who have contacted us or partnered with us. You can opt out at any time. We do not use Participant responses or testimonies to market to Participants.
- Meet legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms
AI-Assisted Features: Multiply uses artificial intelligence to help analyze sermon content, draft discussion questions and prompts, and suggest next steps, such as Ministry Fit matches. All AI processing follows this Privacy Policy, and your information is not used to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only in these situations:
3.1 With Your Church
When you use an experience your church offers, what you submit (such as reflection responses, Ministry Fit results, next steps, testimonies, and any contact details you choose to share) and whether you completed a step may be visible to your church's pastors, administrators, and the leaders they designate, so they can care for you and help you take your next step.
3.2 Public Experiences
Some experiences, such as sermon pages and a church's Testimony Library, can be reached by anyone with the link. A testimony appears there only if you gave permission for it to be shared.
3.3 Service Providers
We share information with trusted companies that help us run our services, such as:
- Cloud and website hosting (for example, Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, and Lindo)
- Payment processors (for example, Stripe and PayPal)
- Form processing (for example, Formspree)
- Email and text messaging (for example, SendGrid and Twilio)
- Scheduling (for example, TidyCal)
- Analytics (for example, Google Analytics)
- Video hosting (for example, YouTube and Vimeo)
- AI providers that help us draft experience content
These providers may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
3.4 Legal Requirements and Safety
We may disclose information when required by law or when needed to:
- Comply with legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or government request
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Multiply, the people we serve, or others
- Prevent fraud, security incidents, or illegal activity
- Enforce our Terms of Service
3.5 Business Transfers
If Multiply is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email or with a clear notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
3.6 With Your Consent
We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent, such as featuring your church's story in our materials.
4. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information.
4.1 Rights Under State Privacy Laws (California, Virginia, Colorado, and Others)
Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to:
- Know: Request details about the personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Access: Get a copy of your personal information
- Delete: Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Correct: Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out: Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Multiply does not sell or share personal information for that purpose.
- Limit use of sensitive information: Limit how we use sensitive personal information
- Non-discrimination: Exercise your rights without being treated differently
4.2 How to Exercise Your Rights
To make a request, email us at privacy@multiplymission.org.
We will verify your identity before acting on your request and respond within 45 days, or as otherwise required by applicable law. You may name an authorized agent to make a request for you. If your request concerns information you submitted through your church's experience, we may coordinate with your church to complete it.
4.3 Universal Opt-Out Signals
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and similar universal opt-out mechanisms as required by state privacy laws. If your browser or device sends an opt-out signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out.
4.4 Emails and Texts
You can stop marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email. If we send you text messages, reply STOP to stop them. We may still send messages needed to deliver services you asked for.
5. Data Security and Retention
5.1 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest
- Access limited to the people who need it to do their work
- Secure cloud infrastructure with Firebase and Google Cloud Platform
No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
5.2 How Long We Keep Information
- Church partner information and church content: For the length of the partnership, then up to 90 days after it ends, as described in our Terms of Service. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Participant information: While your church's partnership is active, or until you or your church ask us to delete it. After a partnership ends, it is deleted on the same 90-day schedule.
- Call requests, form submissions, and Sermon Gift orders: As long as needed to respond, deliver, and keep accurate records, and generally no more than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless your church becomes a partner.
- Backups: Routine backups are overwritten on their normal schedule.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential: To make our website and experiences work, such as remembering your progress through a step
- Analytics: To understand how people use our website, through tools such as Google Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on or through your browser settings.
We do not use cookies to sell personal information or for targeted advertising. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you do, some features may not work as intended.
7. Links to Other Sites
Our website and experiences may link to other sites, such as video platforms, scheduling tools, or your church's own website. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Where Information Is Processed
Multiply is based in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you use our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to the United States.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last Updated" date. If we make a material change, we will notify partner churches by email and post a notice on our website before it takes effect.
